Here is a happy story about a couple of lost dogs. The owner of Lucky Stars Country Kennel got a call last night about two dogs running in a parking lot. Luckly one had a tag, not even a name tag just an old rabies tag. They spent the night safe crated in her barn then three phone calls later and the dogs were reunited with the owners. It turns out they covered quite a few miles during their romp before being picked up.Something as simple as a nametag can make all the difference in the recovery of your lost pet. Snifferdog instinct test
The snifferdog instinct test is a quick assessment to determine if the dog is at all interested in using his nose to find something. We start with something the dog is naturally motivated to find. A cookie, or favorite toy. Introduce the dog to the concept of hiding and finding the object (kind of a peak-a-boo level of difficulty) Then we hide the dogs eyes hide the object and see what he does.
The Snifferdog instinct test is offered in conjunction with introductory seminars. Snifferdog instinct test packages are available throughout the year as a fundraiser for animal events and organizations.
